Important Instructions for Plantronics CS50-USB

NOTE: For the Mac, the CS50-USB is Plug-n-Play so disregard any software that comes with the headset.

After the initial charging period, the headset is charged via the USB port so remove the AC adapter after the headset is fully charged.

When placing the headset into the charging cradle, make sure that it is firmly in position so that the red indicator light turns off (if the unit is fully charged) or glows brighter in intensity (if the unit is not fully charged).

To turn the headset off, press and hold the on/off button. The green indicator light on the charging cradle will be solid.

To turn it on again, press the on/off button again. Both, the green indicator light on the headset and the green indicator light on the charging cradle will flash.

To turn the volume up, rotate the volume button towards the top arrow.

To further increase the volume, allow the button to return to its neutral position and rotate it again. Upon each successive rotation you will hear beeps of increasing volume.

IMPORTANT: If the volume button is depressed toward the central arrow, the headset will mute. (This will be indicated by a rapidly flashing green indicator on the charging cradle and intermittent beeps in the headset). To return the headset to normal function, turn the headset off and then turn it on again.

Audio Settings for the Mac

Make sure to set the "Output" sound settings to "Built-in audio" and NOT to "CS50/CS60-USB".

Check that the "Input" setting is to "CS50/CS60-USB". These settings can be found in "System Preferences" under "Sound".

Make sure the settings of your Communications and Voice Control modalities (Skype, iChat, Speakable Items etc...) are set to "CS50/CS60-USB"

For Skype go to "Preferences" and click "Audio". For iChat go to "Preferences" and click "Video" and for Speakable Items go to "System Preferences" and click on "Speech".
