Getting
Started with Speakables for Skype
(for Windows)

- After
downloading and installing Speakables
for Skype, it
is strongly recommended that you take a few minutes for
voice training and mic configuration, under the Speech
tab.

- Launch
from the Start Menu, and Programs. It
will be in its miniaturized form (right) and can be moved
anywhere on the desktop. (To always be on top of any open windows,
click on the Options
tab.

- Click on
Menu to see the expanded form (left). Or just say
"Show Commands" or "Hide Commands"
to toggle forms.
- You must press
the Scroll Lock key while
you are giving a command. (We recommend this Push-to-Talk
feature in environments with a lot of background noise and to
minimize system demands so that the computer isn't always "listening."
If you are in a quiet area or using a wireless headset and
prefer to be "hands-free", then choose one of the
other Options)
- Available
commands are listed on the left. (eg. press the Scroll Lock key
and say "Open browser" to launch Internet Explorer.)

To
improve your recognition accuracy: Configure your microphone
by clicking on the Speech tab and follow the instructions.
In general, voice recognition increases with frequency of use.
Important: The default
settings for Speakables may be different than your PC's configuration,
especially if these programs like Internet Explorer or Outlook are located
in or have been moved to alternate locations on your PC. If any of the
default Speakables commands do not work, please see Commands
to easily modify them for your system.
